Welcome to the IIBCC
I am delighted to confirm that the upcoming event IIBCC 2026, will take place in Curitiba, Brazil. This conference will be another edition of the truly international IIBCC serial event, coming back to Brazil since the previous event that took place in Sao Paulo twenty years ago.
The Brazilian and South America market for asbestos-free fiber cement follows strong and is experiencing diversification of technologies, products and targeting new markets. Our delegates will have the unique opportunity to participate in a technical visit to one of our modern factories belonging to ETERNIT Brazil S.A., one of the leading fiber cement producers in the country, located in the great Curitiba region. Don’t miss out! Vacancies are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so act fast to secure your spot. Other visits to local suppliers will also be possible by directly contacting our sponsors and exhibitors based in Brazil.
The organising team, led by Prof. Holmer Savastano of the University of São Paulo and Prof. Hans Beushausen of the University of Cape Town, along with the IIBCC Executive Committee, are hard at work preparing for the next conference to ensure it is a resounding success. Our venue at the UP Experience Theater located in a privileged green area, will have a wide hall for the exhibitors’ booths and a comfortable auditorium to host the technical and supplier sessions.
We are looking forward to your attendance at the next IIBCC Conference in Brazil. As before, our conference will provide a dynamic environment for learning and networking. We are particularly interested in gathering greater participation of young and enthusiastic researchers so that we maintain the continuity of development of the Inorganic-Bonded Composites Sector.
You can expect regular communication from the committee leading up to the 2026 conference; we are committed to fulfilling your expectations.
In the meantime, we welcome your suggestions on the organisation of the conference and comments on our previous efforts. The challenge we gladly accept is to continue the outstanding work started by Prof. Al Moslemi and keep the IIBCC community vibrant and stronger than ever by encouraging the participation of users, architects, industry players, suppliers and academia in the continued growth of our conference.
We are looking forward to meeting you in the wonderful city of Curitiba in southern Brazil.
With kindest regards,
Prof. Holmer Savastano Jr.
Chairman IIBCC Committee
