Site Visit 2026

The site visit will take place at the Colombo manufacturing unit, an established facility inaugurated in 1975 that produces fiber cement roofing and construction system components. The plant functions as a comprehensive industrial and technological hub, incorporating dedicated areas for technology development, quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental management.

During the visit, participants will see product demonstrations, manufacturing processes, and ongoing innovations, providing a broad overview of Eternit’s product portfolio. The visit is included in the standard IIBCC programme. The Colombo plant is about 30 minutes from Curitiba, and transport is provided for all participants. Delegates will be collected from the designated conference hotel and returned upon completion of the visit. The total duration, including travel, is approximately four hours.

Participation is limited to 100 delegates, and early registration is therefore recommended. Attendees will be divided into three groups, departing from the hotels at 08:30, 10:30, and 12:30. Following registration, participants will be asked to indicate their preferred time slot via a poll.

The site visit to the Manaus unit (located in the state of Amazonas in the north of Brazil) will provide insight into a key component of Eternit’s production chain. This facility produces polypropylene fibers that are used as a primary raw material in the manufacture of fiber cement roofing and other construction products. As a strategic supplier to Eternit’s other plants, the Manaus unit plays an essential role in supporting the company’s asbestos-free production. The visit will focus on its operations, its strategic importance, and its integration within the broader manufacturing network. This visit is offered as an optional activity and is not included in the standard programme.

The plant visit will take place during the morning, and participants should reserve approximately four hours for the programme. Attendance is limited to a maximum of 40 participants to ensure a high-quality, interactive experience.

At the conclusion of the visit, Eternit will host a lunch featuring traditional cuisine from the Amazon region.

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel to Manaus, as well as any related logistics. Transportation between the delegates' accommodation in Manaus and the factory will be provided by Eternit.
